I hope all of you had a fabulous day! I am so tired but it was a wonderful day..I think the best Christmas I've had! We didn't do anything spectacular but it was such a fun sweet day. Isabella was totally into the entire present idea this year which was fun and the kids were thrilled with their gifts even though we didn't buy everything they wanted. Seth and I teased and laughed all day. It was just a fun, fun day.
We started a new tradition this year. For Christmas Eve we made five different types of appetizers and we ate and played trivia games, Boys vs Girls. It was loads of fun! We laughed a lot and it was very gratifying for me that even Luke was able to answer several questions from things I had taught them in science this year. Oh BTW the girls won 51 - 40. Seth said we cheated but we didn't.
I hope your day was as joyous as ours!
Merry Christmas.

Family Foto Fun Friday #60 Sharp Dressed Kids

This is my first time and I am quite thrilled. I have been checking out everyone else's FFFF entries at Loving Lydia for months. Now that I have my blog up and done I'm going to play too!
This picture was taken at the wedding of our friend's oldest son. The kids were so excited to all be included. It was at a beautiful inn on the beach and the food was fabulous. Isabella loved climbing the stairs so it seemed like a no brainer to get all the kids together and take their picture while she was having such a good time.

How she has changed!
Isabella is changing so quickly it makes me want to cry. She imitates everything we do and repeats everything we say. Today Bradley was whispering to me about a gift he thought I should get for the boys. Isabella walked over and pretended to whisper to us both. It made me think of the part in ELF when Buddy says, "I like to whisper too!"
I have to say the best part of her new antics are when I tell her I love her she hugs me and says, "I yuv yo." That will melt a mama's heart everytime.

A little laughter at my expense...
A friend sent me this "list" Seth and I had a good laugh over it!
Her opening comment is in bold print.
I think that #9 should be "When whacked with a poop scoop, dip your head in the dog bowl to forget it was poop that was on the end of the scoop."
AMAZINGLY SIMPLE HOME REMEDIES
1. If you are choking on an ice cube simply pour a cup of boiling water down your throat.
Presto! The blockage will instantly remove itself.
2. Avoid cutting yourself slicing vegetables by getting someone else to hold while you chop.
3. Avoid arguments with the Mrs. about lifting the toilet seat by using the sink.
4. For high blood pressure sufferers: simply cut yourself and bleed for a few minutes, thus reducing the pressure in your veins. Remember to use a timer.
5. A mouse trap, placed on top of your alarm clock, will prevent you from rolling over and going back to sleep after you hit the snooze button.
6. If you have a bad cough, take a large dose of laxatives, then you will be afraid to cough.
7. You only need two tools in life - WD-40 and Duct Tape. If it doesn't move and should, use the WD-40. If it shouldn't move and does, use the duct tape.
8. Remember: Everyone seems normal until you get to know them.

Redneck Trauma

Yesterday Luke and Dalton were in the backyard playing and having a great time. Their hysterical laughter gave me pause once or twice...when 2 boys are having that much they must be doing something that would either
1. Blow up a house
2. Take someone's eye out or
3. Change the natural color of various backyard items.
Each time I checked they were just throwing balls or swinging wildly...harmless enough.
Then I heard the crying. Not "I'm mad at you crying" but "You just cut my right arm off" crying.
When I looked out the back door Dalton was dunking Luke's head in the dogs' water dish.
When Luke looked at me a large stream of blood was running down between his eyes covering his nose. Oh boy. I cleaned him up and it wasn't nearly as bad as I thought thankfully. This was one of those times where someone could really have lost an eye! It seems they were using the doggie pooper scooper shovel to knock red berries out of the tree and Luke stepped into the path of the swinging shovel.
After I got him situated I had to laugh to myself. Leave it to my boys to inflict a wound with the poop shovel then try to clean the wound in the dogs' slimy water dish! UGH
Never a dull moment!
