Up a tree

We were at the park last week and my friend's daughter snapped this picture of Luke.
I wish I felt as joyful as he looks when I am up in "my tree."
Patience has never been my strong point. Waiting 14 months for Isabella was excruciating and I felt bad that I wasn't more productive while I was waiting. Crying and complaining really aren't very good ways to learn from our trials.
So here I am again. Up in my mental tree waiting for the attorneys and realtors to do what they do so I can collect the keys to my new house and make it a home.
It certainly is a much shorter wait but there is no guarantee this will be my house.
All I have is a promise,
"For I know the plans I have for you says the Lord. Plans for a hope and a future."
I can't ask for much more than that, can I?

The Roller Coaster of Faith

I once heard a disparaging comment about how Christians have perfect lives....I wonder if that person knows just how deluded they were back then.
The ecstatic post didn't come because we were outbid on the house. I was very upset because I let myself picture my kids running through the house and my friends hanging out by the pool. I also lost sight of the fact that God's ways are not mine and His plan is so much better than mine.
We went house hunting again and made an offer on another house. It was actually the first house I had looked at. The people that showed up while I was there to look at were a little put out since they were under the impression the house was theirs.
I guess not since our offer was accepted today and we are awaiting a closing date!

This house is bigger than the first one we bid on. Structurally sound, the first one was not, and in a very good area of town. The first neighborhood wasn't bad but not nearly as desirable as the house we are buying. Did I mention one of my dearest friends lives 3 houses over? Yay God! Huge perk for me.

So I am finally getting excited. I have tried so hard since we lost the first house to walk along believing and trusting that God knows exactly what I need and in the perfect time that I need it. I have had peace but have also had moments where I have scarfed large amounts of chocolate to ease my anxiety. Sound like the perfect life? Easy? No. Blessed? Absolutely.

When we moved to the house we are in now it was partially furnished. I gave away my dining room table and two couches to a friend in need. I had a moment of panic about having to buy new furniture to add to the expense of the house

Last week we were given two couches and a kitchen table and chairs by a friend who is moving. Yay God! We have learned a great lesson this last year about not holding on too tightly to things of this world. Our old house, furniture, clothes anything we have is His. We are to bless others in His name and He will continue to provide for our needs.
Here is a picture of our new house. It needs some TLC but the potential is huge and did I mention I will finally have a homeschool room? God is Good.
